Alexey Yakovlev spoke about the KuzSTU development program until 2030. He noted that according to the Program, the university seeks to become a reference university for the ESG transformation of the mining industry and relies on three areas: digital transformation of enterprises, deep processing of coal and new materials, as well as post-mining, ecology and diversification.
Thus, in terms of digitalization of enterprises, the Kuzbass State Technical University has developed new educational programs: digital technologies in mine surveying; computer-integrated production systems; robots and robotic systems, and others. In 2021-2022, two engineering centers (industrial robotics and industrial, geodynamic and information security) and a research laboratory for digital transformation of enterprises in the mineral resources sector were opened on the basis of KuzSTU .
Other areas of ESG transformation keep in step. As part of the deep processing of coal and new materials, a laboratory was opened for catalysis and transformation of carbon-containing materials to obtain useful products. In addition, KuzSTU is implementing two projects within the framework of the "Clean Coal - Green Kuzbass" program: "Integrated technology of coal processing for obtaining a new type of raw material for the production of carbon fibers" and "Integrated processing of coal mining and coal processing waste with the release of rare and rare earth elements."
Post-mining, ecology and diversification are given attention in new infrastructure facilities - the Mission Control Center and the Interregional Competence Center for Post-Mining and Ecology. In this area, KuzSTU is implementing three projects: "Kuzbass Carbon Test Site", "Creation of Small Spacecraft", and "Investigation of the response of the ISS RS module and validation of its multilevel dynamic model under impacts in operating conditions".
Dmitry Dubinkin, the head of the Center for Digital Technologies, made a presentation on the creation of a domestic line of mining dump trucks. This is one of the largest projects of KuzSTU and the clearest manifestation of the digital transformation of enterprises. Thus, together with KAMAZ PJSC, the university is engaged in the creation of high-tech production of autonomous mining dump trucks with a carrying capacity of up to 90 and 240 tons to work in the digital open-pit mining system. At the same time, within the framework of the Clean Coal - Green Kuzbass program, KuzSTU engineers are creating an unmanned mining dump truck shuttle type with a carrying capacity of 220 tons.
Dmitry Dubinkin spoke in detail about the main systems, units and assemblies of the autonomous mining dump truck. He presented the technology of unmanned control of such vehicles and talked about how the mining of the future will look like with robotic excavator-vehicle complexes.
