The defense of theses by students from China has concluded at KuzSTU's Institute of Power Engineering. Eight students, studying in the Electronics and Nanoelectronics program, successfully completed their bachelor's degree program.
In the fall of 2023, students from Chongqing University of Arts and Sciences arrived at KuzSTU to study under the joint "2+2" program. They spent their first two years studying in China, and then became full-fledged third-year students at our university.
The Chinese students' academic routine was the same as their Russian counterparts. All tests, exams, and, of course, thesis defenses were conducted according to general educational standards. The only difference was additional Russian language classes to help them adapt more quickly and better understand technical vocabulary.
In their theses, the graduates faced a challenging task: creating an electronic device, determining technical requirements, calculating the parameters of a power supply and microcircuit, and designing a printed circuit board and enclosure. Some developed the project within the design documentation, while others implemented it in hardware.
For example, students Zhang Yubohan and Li Hao built a training setup for studying speed sensors—devices that record the speed of moving objects. Such sensors are widely used in control systems, automation, and robotics. After successfully defending their thesis, the students are actively planning for the future.
