Kuzbass Polytechnic gained success at the Russian Energy Week

Students and graduates of Kuzbass State Technical University once again confirmed the high level of their knowledge and won prizes at the Youth Day of the International Forum “Russian Energy Week” (REW) in Moscow.

KuzSTU team “Energy of Kuzbass” took second place at the contest “Youth Global Energy Forecast”. The students reflected their solutions in the project “Internet of Energy and Prospects of Electricity Trade in the Russian Federation”.

More than 60 teams of students from leading universities of Russia and Belarus, as well as young specialists from major industry companies took part in the final defense of the “Forecast”. Their ideas will form the basis for a long-term forecast of the fuel and energy complex development until 2035.

Based on the results, the organizers - the “Reliable Change” Foundation - plan to publish a collection of articles under the aegis of the Youth Global Energy Forecast, which is a collection of articles developed by the participants of the Youth Global Energy Forecast on the basis of the works created within the framework of the Final Stage of the Forecast. The collection will be published on the basis of the Kuzbass Polytech.

KuzSTU graduate Anastasia Ustyuzhanina won second place in the All-Russian competition of graduate qualification works of bachelors and masters of technical universities on electric power and electrical engineering topics. Her project on the development of an algorithm for pricing electricity for microgeneration facilities offers an innovative solution for private homeowners, which allows not only to sell excess energy to the power grid, but also to exchange it directly with other users within the concept of the “Internet of Energy”.

Artyom Kuznetsov, a third-year student of KuzSTU, took the second place at the Engineering Development Competition with a project on the technology of obtaining sorbents from low-demand raw materials of coal mining - steam coal of “D” and “DG” grades. At the competition, organized for the first time within the framework of the REW Youth Day, young inventors and innovators presented to the scientific community the results of research and innovation developments, industrial samples in the field of fuel and energy complex. A total of 14 projects were presented this year, and only 4 of them received the opportunity to participate in a dialog on an equal footing with energy industry experts.

Based on the results of the Russian Energy Week, Kuzbass State Technical University was awarded a letter of thanks for its contribution to the popularization of the fuel and energy complex and engineering education.
