A delegation from Chongqing University of Science and Technology (CQUST) arrived to Kuzbass State Technical University. The main topic of the meeting was to discuss the directions of scientific and educational cooperation. The delegation was led by Liu Shanghai, Vice President of the Chinese university.
The delegation also included the dean of the Institute of Chemistry and Chemical Technology, deputy deans of the Institute of Metallurgy and Materials Science and the Chongqing Research Institute for the Development of Unconventional Oil and Gas Fields. It is in these areas that the universities have found common ground for further work.
In particular, representatives of CQUST were interested in obtaining valuable materials from industrial waste - one of the priority tasks of scientists of Institute of Chemical, Oil and Gas Technologies of KuzSTU. Chongqing University is engaged in the development of wear-resistant materials and modeling of their properties, the technology is used to modernize mining equipment.
In addition, CQUST is studying magnetic materials for docking parts of aircraft. That is why space technologies may become another relevant area for cooperation between the two universities.
Joint scientific work can also be carried out in the areas of environmental technologies and digital transformation of mining companies. Representatives of CQUST were introduced to recent projects of our scientists, including the development of the Kuzbass carbon polygon and unmanned dump trucks.
Cooperation in student training is also promising. The universities are considering the possibility of training students under the "2+2" and "3+1" programs. This year Chinese students can already undergo full-time training at the Summer School of Russian Language of KuzSTU.
