KuzSTU and the Delegation from Belarus Discussed Issues of Cooperation

On January 16, a delegation from the Republic of Belarus visited Kuzbass State Technical University. The meeting took place within the framework of a working visit to Kuzbass. The delegation included representatives of business community and advisors headed by Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador Dmitry Krutoy. The main topic of discussion was new prospects for cooperation.

Kirill Kostikov, Vice-Rector for Research and International Cooperation, noted that Kuzbass Polytechnic has been cooperating for a long time on scientific and educational programs with the Belarusian State Technological University, Belarusian National Technical University, and the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. Partnership with OAO "BELAZ" has demonstrated significant results: the plant designers' lectures for students, the establishment of a park and new laboratories in KuzSTU, championships in solving machine-building cases, and much more.

This year the partners plan to implement several joint projects. For example, the Kuzbass Polytechnic Institute will have a VR-technology classroom for BELAZ, and students will be able to study the operation and repair of quarry machinery components in virtual space. In addition, the university will organize a course of lectures by BELAZ specialists on the design, operation and maintenance of quarry machinery. Students will also have an opportunity to take part in the International Championship "BELAZ-Challenge".

KuzSTU scientists will be able to implement their ideas and scientific projects at other Belarusian sites as well. Currently, the points of interaction with OAO "Belaruskali", a producer of potash mineral fertilizers, are being discussed. Professors of the Kuzbass Polytech have already held advanced training courses for the employees of the enterprise.

The event concluded with a tour around the university. The delegation visited the Mining Technology Park and the laboratory of hydromechanics and hydraulics. During the visit to Kuzbass, the delegation also held a meeting with Governor Sergey Tsivilyov, where they discussed the issues of tourism, expansion of trade and economic cooperation and holding the Kuzbass Culture Days in Minsk.
