From March 15 to March 17, the All-Russian scientific and practical conference “Problems and prospects for the use of unmanned technologies in the industrial complex” was held at the Polytech recreation center in Sheregesh. This year, the participants include representatives of 11 universities and educational institutions, 26 companies of the fuel and energy and mineral and raw materials complex, including Stroyservice JSC, the Siberian Institute of Mining, Gazprom dobycha Kuznetsk and others.

For the first time this conference was organized 5 years ago. It was devoted to unmanned aerial vehicles, but today the issues of unmanned technologies that can be applied in industry have naturally complemented its agenda covering not only aircrafts, but also all unmanned vehicles, autonomous robots. Unmanned technology is a promising area that can solve a lot of problems of the fuel and energy and mineral resources complex in the field of construction and many other industries.

Guests from Yekaterinburg, Tomsk, Novosibirsk, Minsk and Moscow made their scientific presentations. Four reports at the conference were presented by the faculty of KuzSTU. Alexander Ushakov, junior researcher at the Digital Technologies Research Center, spoke about a scientific study on “Stages in the development of the travel direction system for an unmanned vehicle based on self-learning”. Pavel Sakne, postgraduate student of the Department of Power Supply of Mining and Industrial Enterprises, presented his report on “Application of artificial neural networks in the industrial complex”. Mikhail Potapov, a researcher at the Department of Mine Surveying and Geology, spoke about “Determining the optimal number of control stations during surveys of mining enterprises using UAVs”. One more speaker Ilya Syrkin, Ph.D. in Engineering, Associate Professor of the Department of Information and Automated Production Systems shared his research in the development of hardware and software architecture of the control system for an unmanned mining dump truck.

One more important stage of the conference was the Flight and Practice Part. The participants of the event were present at the demonstration of unmanned aircrafts of multi-rotor type, aircraft type, as well as unmanned systems of various profiles. In addition, an exhibition of unmanned technologies was organized for the participants.

The All-Russian Conference is a platform not only for communication, but also for practical steps. Thus, last year, the participants discussed amending the federal rules for training specialists in the field of unmanned vehicles, in particular unmanned aerial vehicles: there was neither standard training program nor complete understanding of the capabilities of an unmanned aerial vehicle operator certificate. The experts indicated these issues in the resolution of the conference and sent them to the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation. The changes were accepted and now KuzSTU has a standard training program for unmanned aircraft operators, approved by the authority, - said Roman Belyaevsky, Deputy Director for Research of the Power Institute.
