On January 26, the grand opening of the first in Russia university anti-stress space "YavMOMENTE" took place.
50 students from various educational institutions of Kuzbass, as well as guests of honor, came to KuzSTU to see the new creative space of our university and to take part in an open dialogue with the governor of the region. The Governor devoted the “talk about the important” to the history of the Kemerovo region, the contribution of our region to the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, reminding that on January 26, 2023 the Kemerovo region would celebrate its 80th anniversary, and also spoke about two large-scale projects: the erection of a monument to the liberator warrior Nikolai Masalov and the City of Labor Valor stele.
The anti-stress space opening ceremony was attended as well by Minister of Science and Education of Kuzbass Sergey Pfetzer, Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Kemerovo Region-Kuzbass for Education and Science Anton Pyatovsky and Rector of T. F. Gorbachev Kuzbass State Technical University Alexey Yakovlev.
This is a new unique student space. It is very convenient to hold events of various formats, relax, arrange meetings, engage in joint projects or find a place to stay alone or with a book. The site should become a place for communication between professional communities, it should be busy with interesting events for students. I wish you to have new ideas and thoughts here, to create your projects and implement them on the territory of Kuzbass which should become a student region - this is our priority, - said the governor Sergei Tsivilev.
Within the walls of the anti-stress space, students will be able to spend their extracurricular time productively and profitably - read a book, for instance, or play board games. For outdoor enthusiasts, there is a mini-golf course, table football and tennis, as well as air hockey. The sand zone arranged in the anti-stress space gives an opportunity for its visitors to try and create sand images. Students also can make an appointment with a qualified psychologist.
Today, the psychological well-being and mental health of students is one of the priorities in the work of the university, - said Alexei Yakovlev, rector of KuzSTU.
The university students themselves took part in creating the space - from designing and developing a design project to choosing furniture and necessary equipment. In February, the first events will be held here: a yoga master class, an open day for schoolchildren, an award for participants in the #WeTogether action, as well as a patriotic quiz for students and table tennis competitions.
The creation of the YavMOMENTE anti-stress space is only the first step towards transforming the youth infrastructure of the university. On February 8, on the Day of Russian Science, KuzSTU will open a youth scientific cafe "Food for Thought", and in September 2023, a new student space of more than 1,800 square meters.
