Researchers from different countries came to the Kuzbass Polytechnic University

KuzSTU hosted the VI International Scientific and Practical Conference "Innovations in Information Technologies, Mechanical Engineering and Motor Transport", where students of the Kuzbass Technical University and invited guests presented the results of their research and development work.

Within the framework of the conference, three sections were organized: "Innovations in information technologies", "Innovations in mechanical engineering", and "Innovations in motor transport". Among the invited speakers were colleagues from the Tomsk State University of Control Systems and Radioelectronics, as well as guests from Kazakhstan.

– The conference, which we traditionally hold within the walls of our university, has acquired international status not by chance. For us, this is a new level of scientific cooperation that will help improve the lives of citizens, secure production and make it profitable,” said Kirill Kostikov, Vice-Rector for Research and International Cooperation of KuzSTU, at the plenary session of the conference.

Innovations in information technologies turned out to be the most popular section. Students spoke about the disadvantages and advantages of digitalization of higher education, signal processing algorithms using wavelet transforms, and also presented their own developments of mobile applications and various programs.

Research engineer of Tomsk Polytechnic University Ali Muhammad Furkan presented a report on the "Scheme of underwater simultaneous light information and power transmission (SLIPT)". According to the researcher, today the study of the underwater world should become one of the priorities for Russian scientists, because 95% of the oceans of planet Earth remain unexplored. In this regard, Ali proposes the use of hybrid underwater communication in various aquatic environments. He talks about the adoption of 5G and 5G beyond technologies and the use of the Internet of Things (Pout) to explore uncontrolled environments such as the ocean. This will allow energy-saving signal transmission under water and wireless energy collection.

Victoria Efremova, a 3rd year student majoring in "Information Systems and Technologies" of KuzSTU, and Anastasia Sulimova, a post-graduate student of the Department of Information and Automated Production Systems of KuzSTU, presented a report on the "Tools for analyzing signals and images using wavelets." The purpose of this work is to develop and study the hardware and software basis of the complex for simulation and current monitoring of dosing processes in a mixing plant. The study reviews the issues related to the design and creation of an automated control system for dosing processes. As a result of the study, the students managed to develop mathematical models that can be implemented in real production in the future.

As part of my dissertation, I am developing signal processing algorithms using wavelet transforms. Wavelets have been successfully implemented in many fields of activity, ranging from data compression and signal processing to the purely mathematical field of solving partial differential equations. Wavelet analysis is an integral part of solving complex problems in various fields, in particular for signal processing. However, due to lack of study in the field of automation of technological processes the application of theoretical research is an urgent task, - says Anastasia Sulimova, a postgraduate student of the Department of Information and Automated Production Systems of KuzSTU.

In total, more than 30 presentations in person and over 25 correspondence reports were announced for participation in the conference. This year, according to the results of the work of the sections, 180 materials will be included in the electronic collection of scientific articles of KuzSTU. The collection will be available on the event website https://scisfera.ru/iitma, all articles of the authors will be placed in the scientific elibrary.ru and included in the RSCI scientometric database.
